At the end they say she's the "protector" of the artifacts, or something. She can do it because she's "the good guy." That's always been the whole game. Also because it's a shooter, so people have to die and they have no other way of explaining it. Every time her killing was brought up, it was glossed over, probably because she was thrown into that world and sorta has no other choice unless she wants to give up and die. So why is this only being questioned now? Is Lara a sociopath? I mean probably but whatever. She never went back after her first kill in TR2013, so it was kinda explained. Okay but Lara has killed hundreds of people since the first game, and basically acted like it's normal. For how many years do we have to deal with her parents? It has been a thing since LAU damnit. In Shadow they're pretty poor compared to RotTR and TR2013.ĩ- family drama. They promoted her as morally grey, but she's a world savior.Ħ- one of the main themes of the game, the apocalypse, is there only when the game wants.ħ- infinite amount of collectibles that no one needs.Ĩ- set pieces. The reaction she has after killing it, is frankly ridiculous. Like the scene where she nudges the jaguar while the latter is tearing her back. Inconsistent voice acting makes things worse.Įvery single time she's involved in some kind of cool or dramatic scene, it's a "show off" with zero substance. She seems the vessel of someone's else will. Where do I even start? I think she's an incredibly poor character in Shadow. At times I felt like I was playing Assassin's Creed Origins and that's not a good thing, at all.ĥ- Lara's characterisation is all over the place. Like Lara with Jonah.ģ- learning skills again doesn't even make sense in the third game.Ĥ- fetch quests. I would say that's incredibly annoying and even frustrating.Ģ- I'm not a fan of relationships between characters especially when there's no substance behind them. ![]() It takes controls away from me during the main story countless times. Instead the reasons why I think the game is bad:ġ- for my taste the game it's too hand-holding, more than TR2013 and way more than RotTR. No narrative, just pure gameplay and Shadow would've been a really great experience. If they followed the (old) IO Interactive route, releasing challenge tombs as episodes I'd hold Shadow in really high regard. ![]() ![]() Easily the part where the game truly shines (and despite this they're still optional.). For me the only reason this game could be at least a 6/10 is because of challenge tombs.
