![]() ![]() ![]() I think of Columbus Day tomorrow - and efforts to distort and erase the historical and Christian significance of this celebration. Michael the Archangel Meditation Garden, from amidst the clouds on this overcast day, the sun came out and shone brightly on all of us. When we arrived at the end of our route, at the St. Our Pastor showed up with his dog ("Grace"), our picture-taker (yep, the one who "couldn't come") came, with his wife and whole family people even came from other towns - 46 prayer warriors holding rosaries, praying, singing, and invoking Our Lady's intercession to Jesus in our suffering world. As I waited at the Our Lady Meditation Garden (our starting point) going over my program, people began to come from all directions! I was able to delegate responsibilities as people showed up (counters, sign carriers, program distributors, etc.) for a smooth rally experience. I invoked my Guardian Angel to influence others through their Guardian Angels to come. Several people I had asked to help weren't able to be there. My biggest fear was that people wouldn't come! I had heard our picture-taker (aka our amazing tech guru and youth minister) couldn't come. it's been a lifeline for me, as I continually try to improve my sinful self. let's invite Jesus into our lives with a simple, "Good morning, Jesus," and greet others, as well, with a sign of acceptance and peace.įather Mark also mentions Peter Kreeft's book, "7 Reasons to be Catholic," - one of the big ones Father Mark says, is the sacrament of confession. Jesus offers us relationship and peace and mercy. Isolation causes one to seek other things sometimes worldly, sinful things (a type of bondage). He will strengthen us and never abandon us. Our presence with Him is an incredible blessing. I love the suggestion Father Mark mentioned from Mother Teresa - she would start her day saying, "Good morning, Jesus." By doing so, we open up ourselves to relationship with Him during our day. It's a game-changer a life changer.īut with each sin we commit, we allow Satan to enter our lives and reject this gift of the Kingdom. There's a powerful "catching the wave" like a surfer (Peter Kreeft comment) when we embrace this Kingdom. Jesus is our pearl of great price, our miracle worker, our mercy seat entering into our human history (Father Mark). our passions repeatedly betray our human dignity. God's finger also had written His law on stone tablets (the Ten Commandmants) - but Jesus, Who became One of us (the God-Man) and walked with us, gives us His Kingdom and Faith and Divine Order to accept or reject, out of His recognizable, compassionate love and mercy. The God of Israel is the One True God that even Pharaoh's magicians recognized they could not compete with - as God's finger worked through Moses in the ten plagues that beset the Egyptians. Today, Father Mark, in response to the reading from Luke 11:15-26, where Jesus casts out demons and is accused of working with the power of Beelzebul (the Devil).įather Mark's reflections through my eyes. Please accept this as a disclaimer - I only want to defend what is holy.Īdmittedly, I've become an EWTN (Eternal Word Network) "junkie." Even when I go to live mass, I utube EWTN's daily mass for its homily, never to disappoint. They inspire this blog and, often, I find myself using some of their words, inadvertently, to communicate what I think we are in such agreement. L want to give thanks to the holy priests at EWTN - Eternal Word Television Network.
